SAARC Tour Operators Conclave Inaugurated

Union Tourism Minister Shri Subodh Kant Sahai has said that tourist from countries having sizable Buddhist population such as Thailand and Malaysia would be provided the facility of Visa on Arrival ( VOA). Inaugurating a two day International Buddhist Conclave at Varanasi, he said his Ministry had also decided to develop a Ghat in the temple town Varanasi in the name of Lord Buddha on the bank of river Ganga.

Canada’s hotel industry reported decreases in the three key performance metrics for the week of 16-22 September 2012, according to data from STR. In year-over-year measurements, the country’s hotel occupancy fell 2.7 percent to 75.3 percent; its average daily rate declined 2.9 percent to CAD$135.29; and its revenue per available room was down 5.5 percent to CAD$101.91.
