FAA Proposes $122,000 Civil Penalty Against Trans States Airlines, Inc.

U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)The U.S Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a $122,000 civil penalty against Trans States Airlines, Inc., of Bridgeton, Mo., for allegedly operating an aircraft that was not in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
The agency alleges that Trans States failed to test and inspect an Embraer EMB-145 jet’s fuel system components within the timeframe required by an FAA Airworthiness Directive. The purpose of the Airworthiness Directive is to prevent anything from igniting in the fuel system.
