Changi Airport Operating Indicators for February 2015

Changi AirportPassenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport grew 0.3% on-year in February 2015, with 4.12 million passengers passing through the airport.


There was a 7.3% increase in airfreight movements to 136,000 tonnes of cargo processed during the month. Aircraft movements decreased by 1.0% to 26,490. The Lunar New Year holidays which this year fell in February compared to January last year, boosted travel demand to Northeast Asia, South Asia and the Southwest Pacific.

Bombardier to perform maintenance on National Express Group's fleet of ELECTROSTAR trainsRail technology leader Bombardier Transportation has signed a contract with National Express Group to provide maintenance for the new Essex Thameside franchise. This new franchise was recently awarded to National Express Group by the UK’s Department for Transport (DfT). The contract, which is for a ten-year period with the option to extend another 5 years, covers maintenance and spare parts on 74 four-car Class 357 ELECTROSTARtrains and is valued at approximately £143 million GBP (196 million euro, $213 million US).

Bombardier Announces Notice of Redemption for All of its 4.250% Senior Notes due 2016

BombardierBombardier today announced that it has issued a notice of redemption for all of its outstanding 4.250% Senior Notes due 2016 (the “Notes”). As set forth in the notice of redemption issued today pursuant to the terms of the indenture governing the Notes, the redemption date is April 29, 2015, and the redemption price will be calculated on April 24, 2015. Bombardier will disclose the redemption price by press release on April 24, 2015.

Air India clarifies (On London- Delhi flight report)

Air IndiaA section of the press has reported of an incident where a passenger had reported sick on board an international flight and more than one passenger claiming to be doctors, came forward to help in the medical emergency case and wanted to see the pilot. According to the report these doctors and the sick passengers were Pakistani nationals and were trying to get access to the cockpit.
Air India would like to clarify that the above reports are totally false.

South African AirwaysSouth African Airways’ first flight, SA 278, to Abu Dhabi departed this morning at 09:30 and arrives at 20:25 local time in Abu Dhabi. The daily service sees frequencies between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi double with partner Etihad Airways continuing its seven weekly departures. Air France inaugurates non-stop Paris – Vancouver flights


Brazil France PlaneAir France inaugurated its non-stop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Vancouver international airport. Five weekly flights are operated by Boeing 777-200 equipped with 309 seats – 35 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 250 in Economy.

As from 13 July, one of these flights will be operated by a Boeing 777-200 equipped with the Company’s new Best&Beyond cabins.

European WaterwaysEuropean Waterways announced that it has invested more than $600,000 in upgrades to its hotel barges and added new routes for the 2015 season. The company will also be expanding its fleet next year with the addition of “the latest in luxury hotel barging,” the double-decker 8-passenger Finesse. The Finesse will cruise Southern Burgundy from St-Jean-de-Losne to Montchanin – an area not currently offered in the European Waterways Program. It is scheduled to launch in April 2016 and will be priced at $7,000 – $7,500 per person.

A trio of elephants arrive at Jumeirah Emirates Towers

JumeirahJumeirah Emirates Towers, in partnership with Ayyam Gallery, has installed a new sculpture “The Elephants Trio” outside the main entrance of the hotel tower.

Nadim Karam, a multidisciplinary Lebanese artist, masterfully crafted the sculpture. Laser-cut from stainless steel, the sculptures increase in height from 0.70m to 1.5m to 3m – the largest is the size of a fully-grown elephant. Over 500 stainless steel tubes join the two sides of the largest elephant together. The perforated surfaces are constituted from Karam’s rich vocabulary of forms.
