Singapore Changi Airport : Operating Indicators for October 2015


Changi AirportPassenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport grew 2.5% year-on-year in October 2015, with 4.60 million passengers travelling through the airport. There was an increase of 1.8% in airfreight movements, with 162,500 tonnes of cargo handled during the month. Aircraft landings and takeoffs increased by 4.3% to 29,610, the highest mark thus far this year.

Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar Pacific added to oneworld’s Global Explorer


Jetstar AsiaThe addition of these three carriers’ routes, with effect from tomorrow (Tuesday, 1 December), will bring more than 15 new destinations, two key Asian hubs – in Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore – and dozens more routes on board Global Explorer.

This means Global Explorer now features some 230 destinations across Asia – and around 1,150 worldwide, in more than 150 countries.

Malaysia wins ‘Best Eco-Vacation’ at Nat Geo traveler awards

A total of 29 countries were nominated for this category and Malaysia, Namibia and Portugal were in the top three positions.

Lufthansa agrees on pay deal for 30,000 ground staff


lufthansaLufthansa has agreed to a pay deal with its 30,000 ground staff with a hope to avoid further strikes. The deal has been struck with the service sector union, Verdi which has been promised pay rise of 2.2 per cent, €2,250 (£1,580).

The Lufthansa airport staff and the catering, IT freight and maintenance workers are being covered in the rise.
